History

Versilia - Sturlini Firenze
The history
1967

In 1967 Rolando Sturlini founded the “Navayos” shoe factory in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside, giving life to a family history and artisan tradition.

Anna, Rolando’s wife, is the head of the stitching department, a highly skilled division of the internal production process that initiates the creation of handmade loafers.

Their deep knowledge of the sector, combined with the mastery of some expert shoemakers, give birth to a product that is the result of a passion for detail, research and the use of leathers that are a symbol of the know-how made in Italy, made in Tuscany.

Thanks to collaborations with some international high fashion brands, the company also establishes itself in foreign markets, becoming a point of reference for Italian footwear.

History - Sturlini Firenze
1990

In 1990, the children Alessio and Alessia joined the company and continued the work of their founding father, with the same energy, spirit, passion and determination to create high quality footwear, with a contemporary appeal and comfort given by the lightness and flexibility of increasingly new and exclusive constructions.

2000

Since the mid-2000s, the shoe factory has begun to enter the retail sector with its own STURLINI brand, which also adopts the logo, a heraldic symbol of the Medici coat of arms of Florence, which features 6 bezants or balls as they were later called by the Florentines, by virtue of a distant relationship of the family.

Today

Looking to the future, and with the entry of Edoardo, Alessia’s son, together with its artisan shoemakers and workers, the company’s goal is to grow globally by exporting a brand that represents the excellence, originality and style of footwear made in Italy.

The brand
An ethical vision of the production cycle and a social responsibility that led the brand to a precise choice: “a return to the future”.
The brand - Sturlini Firenze

For over 20 years Sturlini has combined craftsmanship, innovation, sustainability, classic and contemporary elegance to create footwear with a unique and timeless style. The brand draws its soul from the context in which it was born, Tuscany.

01
Hand made

Thanks to workers linked to the brand for decades, using materials of national and regional origin and producing everything within the factory, a unique feature in today’s footwear sector.

02
Sustainability

A bio craftsmanship that links ancient production processes, rooted in the territory, favoring eco-sustainable materials; plant extracts, glues, waxes, natural pigments, which give life to a finished product with a strong design, and comfortable fit, distinctive elements and unique characteristics that reflect the personality of the wearer.

03
Garment-dyeing

The brand’s distinctive aesthetic also derives from manual finishing techniques such as “chiaroscuro”, rough cuts, contrasting glossy and opaque finishes, and “garment dyed”, where each individual shoe has a non-uniform, never identical colour, demonstrating the uniqueness and touch of craftsmanship of each hand-made shoe that takes months to conceive and create and days to take shape.
